Dr. Bhatia was the first electrophysiologist to implant a “combo” device (combination defibrillator and biventricular pacemaker)in South Asia. He earned his medical degree from Government Medical College in Amritsar, India, and then came to the US where he completed Fellowships in both Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Wisconsin Medical School, Aurora Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Bhatia joined our group on August 1, 2002.
During his Residency, Dr. Bhatia received several awards including the Outstanding Senior Resident of the Year at St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Rick Wartgow Award at Aurora Sinai Medical Center. He has authored or co-authored over 17 original manuscripts, and has lectured at, as well as chaired, both national and international conferences.
Dr. Bhatia is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the Heart Rhythm Society (formerly NASPE and the American Heart Association.
